''Bitterness the Star'' is the first studio album and debut major label album by the Alaskan Nu metal, Metalcore music group 36 Crazyfists. It was released on April 4, 2002 through Roadrunner Records, and was produced by Eddie Wohl. "Slit Wrist Theory" was released as a single and is often censored to "Wrist Theory" on music channels. This is the only 36 Crazyfists album to bear a Parental Advisory sticker. It is also Brock Lindow's favourite 36 Crazyfist album, he claimed in the Kerrang! magazine in 2007, " Bitterness will always remain my favourite album, no matter what". Brock Lindow also commented on this album as being the "early masterpiece" and compared it to Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction by saying, "We have created our masterpiece very early on, any future album will not be at the same level as this. It's like Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, all his work after that movie sucked. I'm not saying our future albums will suck, but nothing will compare to Bitterness."

Carl Severson from Nora appears on "One More Word" and Steev Esquivel from Skinlab appears on "Bury Me Where I Fall" as guest vocalists. - Wikipedia
